Spotify is best known for bringing streaming music to the masses, but they now have their sights set on dominating the podcast industry. Over the last 18 months or so, they've acquired Anchor, Gimlet Media, The Ringer, and they signed a multi-year licensing deal with The Joe Rogan Experience.
As is always the case, we're interested in exploring the business perspective. What is Spotify's endgame here? Can they really dominate the podcast market? And most important of all, what can we learn by studying their strategy?
