Tech enthusiasts come up with all kinds of explanations for why the iPhone remains at the top.  And their reasons tend to change over time.  Historically, they have included things like: better cameras, faster processors, iMessage lock-in, App Store exclusives, ecosystem lock-in, and most popular of all - Apple's impressive marketing.

But while some of those things may play a role, they do not explain Apple's consistent dominance in the US market.  So in this episode, we're going to look at this from a business perspective...  Why is the iPhone so dominant?  Why is Samsung the only brand to put up a decent fight?  And perhaps most interesting of all, why isn't the iPhone as dominant in international markets?

To answer these questions, we're going to explore three powerful insights from The 22 Immutable Laws of Marketing by Al Ries and Jack Trout.
